I just completed my first custom resin window with this delightful couple from Neptune Beach, who reached out to me after discovering my art at Coconut Barrel~The Artisan Market! The entire experience from beginning to end has been pure magic, and I’m beyond grateful and deeply touched by the trust they placed in me. These new found friends have become some of my greatest supporters throughout the last several weeks of this creative process, returning each time, drawn to carry yet another Gift From The Sea~ bringing even more of the ocean’s beauty home with them. Their kindness, encouragement, and love for my art (and Amy’s beautiful Gifts From The Sea cards too!) have been a true gift, reminding me why I create.

But the exchange was never one-sided~ I received so much from them, too. The warmth, connection, enthusiasm, and joy~ both individually and collectively~ that unfolded in making this piece together has uplifted me in ways beyond words. Creating this was more than just an art project~ it was a dance of creativity, trust, and connection. It wasn’t just about making something beautiful; it was about aligning our visions and pouring our hearts into something deeply meaningful~ something that will radiate beauty, light, memories, and meaning for many years to come.

What makes this piece even more special is the personal touch they added~ four baby sea turtles to represent each of their children, alongside treasured shells, shark teeth, and sea glass gathered over the years from our beautiful shores. Now, woven into this creation, their memories glisten like reflections of the sea, forever intertwined with the rhythm of the tides.

Moments like these remind me that art is never just about the creation itself~ it’s about the connections we nurture, the stories we share, and the way our lives touch one another. Each exchange leaves us more joyful, uplifted, and inspired, with our world feeling a little brighter than before we met. The true gift isn’t only in the finished piece, but in the trust, connection, and shared experience that radiate and expand outward~ leaving our hearts even fuller and bringing more beauty, joy, and love into the world~ forever changing us all.

(Oh, and a special note~ Angela always arrived with a thoughtful gift. Each time, she treated me to the most delicious cookies I’ve ever tasted. They are so amazing, I have no doubt she could open a bakery if that ever calls to her. I still can’t believe they’re gluteh free, dairy- and egg-free, made with almond flour, coconut sugar, and other wholesome ingredients. Angela had no idea how much this meant to me~ especially after such a dramatic health scare last year, it’s been such a treat for me to be able to enjoy not only wholesome, healthy baked goods, but knowing that all the ingredients are ones my wonderful integrative medicine doctor at Mayo says I can actually eat… such a beautiful way to celebrate the magic of this whole experience!)
